AGRANA Zucker GmbH

AGRANA Zucker GmbH is the operating company of the Group’s sugar segment and operates two sugar refineries in Austria, located in Leopoldsdorf i.M. and Tulln (both in Lower Austria).

In addition, AGRANA Zucker also holds the Group's interests in the sugar subsidiaries in Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria and Bosnia-Herzegovina, and is responsible for their coordination and operational management.


AGRANA Zucker GmbH is present in five EU countries with a total of 12 production sites (nine sugar refineries and three food production facilities) and holds important market shares in each country. In Brcko (Bosnien-Herzegovina), AGRANA is currently constructing a raw sugar refinery in a joint venture with its long-standing distribution partner SCO Studen & Co Holding. Production is expected to start in late 2007.

Having established the Wiener Zucker family brand in Austria, AGRANA Zucker has since introduced a number of associated brands: Koroná Cukor in Hungary, Korunni Cukr in the Czech Republic, Korunny Cukor in Slovakia, Margaritar Zahar in Romania and a further brand in Bulgaria.


AGRANA Zucker GmbH is also responsible for the brand management and sales of the flour products of Erste Wiener Walzmühle Vonwiller Ges.m.b.H. (Fini's Feinstes – the No. 1 national brand in Austria), Fritsch Mühlenbetriebsges.m.b.H. (Küchenperle – traditional regional brand in Upper Austria) and FARINA Mühlen Ges.m.b.H. (Farina – extra-regional flour brand marketed in the provinces of Styria, Carinthia, Vienna, Lower Austria and Burgenland), and it also distributes food products on behalf of Hellma Lebensmittel-Verpackungs-Ges.m.b.H., a subsidiary of Portion pack Europe.
