AGRANA Beteiligungs-Aktiengesellschaft was founded in 1988 as the holding company of the Austrian sugar and starch industry.

In order to underpin the future growth of the AGRANA Group, having achieved the key objectives in Central Europe and reached the anti-trust limits in the core Sugar segment, AGRANA added a new segment, that of fruit preparations and fruit juice concentrates, to its existing sugar and starch operations. Within the space of a few years, AGRANA has been successful in transforming itself from a traditional Austrian sugar and starch company into a fast-growing and global-acting corporate group.

AGRANA Beteiligungs-AG and AGRANA J & F Holding GmbH hold the shares in the following subsidiaries, which in turn manage the various international subsidiaries:
