AGRANA – Adding Value to the Arts and Culture
AGRANA is a globally oriented company with more than 50 production sites in 26 countries. At the same time, the company is proud of its cultural roots in Austria. This combination of an international outlook and Austrian identity is the reason for AGRANA supporting the arts and culture in Austria. This way of thinking is also reflected in the selection of the cultural projects to receive support. In all of its cultural promotion projects, AGRANA attaches considerable importance to harmoniously aligning the significance of Austria's cultural heritage, as the core of its corporate identity, with the requirements imposed by the age of globalisation.

AGRANA is the main sponsor of Theater an der Wien
On one side Theater an der Wien, a prominent Vienna opera house with an excellent reputation. On the other side AGRANA, one of Austria's top industrial companies. Still: Theater an der Wien and AGRANA have much in common. To both the combination of tradition and modernity is of central importance - with top quality standards.
AGRANA supports Theater an der Wien in order to enable cultural events which are highly regarded and appreciated by all of the world's cultures and which establish a successful bridge between European tradition and international modernity. Exactly these thoughts can be found in the corporate vision of AGRANA: As a modern Austrian industrial corporation it aims at aligning the principles of the European way of life and tolerance with commercial success even in a globalised world.
The cooperation between AGRANA and Theater an der Wien brings success: For its efforts associated with the sponsoring of the Theater an der Wien, AGRANA was awarded the MAECENAS 2006 prize in the category for the best first-time sponsor of the arts.
AGRANA and Theater an der Wien continue on their journey into the future together. The cooperation began in 2006, now it has been extended by another three years with effect from the start of the 2011|2012 opera season. This serves as an example for the long-term strategy of the sugar, starch and fruit company to position itself as a sponsor of cultural affairs. In the year 2012 AGRANA will assume patronage for Jacques Offenbach’s opera “The Tales of Hoffmann” at Theater an der Wien. Therefore the company shows that culture in Austria offers an “UPGRADE” – according to the vision of the company: “The natural UPGRADE”.

AGRANA supports the music festival in Grafenegg
As an important employer in Lower Austria, AGRANA is particularly committed to contributing to this region by means of supporting this musical festival. Through its sponsorship of this event, AGRANA has been able to help in making Grafenegg one of Lower Austria’s most important cultural centres and one with a truly international format.
In addition to the financial support of the arts and culture, in 2008, AGRANA combined forces with its partner and former co-sponsor Volvo to support the artists’ shuttle service provided by the Grafenegg Music Festival in the form of the environmentally friendly fuel SuperEthanol E85 from its bioethanol plant in Pischelsdorf / Lower Austria. This project was also awarded a prize in the category best cultural sponsoring at the 2008 MAECENAS awards ceremony in Lower Austria.

AGRANA – official sponsor of the Theater in der Josefstadt
AGRANA not only adds quality to our life through its wide product range, but has also been doing so in its role as a sponsor of events at the Theater in der Josefstadt. AGRANA functions as a sponsor for the third time now. In the season 2011|12 the company supports the musical “Singin’ In the Rain”.
