Date: 13.07.2001High profit level sustained
Results during the first quarter of the AGRANA Group’s current financial year (1 March through 31 May 2001) were even better than in the first quarter of 2000/01. Revenues were 11.7 percent up on the same period of the previous financial year, operating profit 9.0 percent, profit before income taxes 14.8 percent and profit after income taxes 1.6 percent.
The AGRANA Group’s excellent performance was made possible by the stable world market price of sugar and by continued success in the starch segment. In addition, restructuring of AGRANA’s foreign subsidiaries has been yielding the expected improvements in results, likewise contributing to the group’s successful development.
