Döllerer’s Genusswelten, 5440 Golling
Andreas Döllerer is renowned among Austria’s chefs for his creativity, achieving 18 out of 20 points in the GAULT MILLAU 2010 guide.
THE AWARD
The award for the Chef of the Year, which is highly coveted by Austria’s top chefs, was presented for the 28th time in 2010 by GAULT MILLAU. AGRANA has been a sponsor of the event for the last 18 years.
Andreas Döllerer is currently one of the most exciting chefs in the country, and no other top Austrian chef has improved as consistently as he has over the past few years. Döllerer’s philosophy enabled him to experiment with both long-established recipes and oriental spices. The result is a kind of 21st Century alpine cuisine: light, yet intensively powerful at the same time, simply oozing originality. Local produce like Bluntau charr, Tauern lamb or organic Pinzgauer beef is the order of the day, but he also shows no aversion to turbot, truffles, and Mieral pigeon from the Eastern French region of Bresse.
“As an internationally active refiner of agricultural raw materials with deep roots in Austria, AGRANA sets particular store by a successful combination of tradition and innovation. Both Agrana and Andreas Döllerer demand the highest levels of quality at every step in production, be it in growing crops and processing them carefully, or in preparing culinary delights,” explains AGRANA CEO Johann Marihart.
“The talent of Andreas Döllerer has been growing at a brisk pace for a number of years. Our testers have been delighted time and again. Andreas Döllerer is a perfect craftsman with great creative potential – there is no higher compliment that can be paid to a chef,” says GAULT MILLAU editor-in-chief Martina Hohenlohe.
