25 Year Anniversary of AGRANA Beteiligungs AG: Benefit concert with Rudolf Buchbinder in cooperation with the Theatre an der Wien.Date: 24.11.2013
AGRANA and Theatre an der Wien are donating EUR 70,000 to „Malteser Care Ring – Kinderhilfe“ and „Hilfe im eigenen Land – Katastrophenhilfe Österreich“.
AGRANA Beteiligungs-AG celebrates 25 years since its foundation this year. Since its founding in 1998 as a purely Austrian company, this industrial company with its three business segments, Sugar, Starch and Fruit, has successfully developed into a global player. AGRANA celebrated the company’s anniversary with numerous guests on the 23rd November by way of a benefit concert in cooperation with the Theatre an der Wien. The musical high point of the evening was provided by the performance of three of Ludwig van Beethoven’s piano sonatas by star pianist Rudolf Buchbinder.
AGRANA doubled the takings from the sale of tickets for the evening and donated a total amount of EUR 70,000, together with Theatre an der Wien, to the two organisations Malteser Care Ring – Kinderhilfe and Hilfe im eigenen Land – Katastrophenhilfe Österreich. Natalie Lottersberger, the managing director of Malteser Care Ring – Kinderhilfe and Sissi Pröll, President of Hilfe im eigenen Land – Katastrophenhilfe Österreich were delighted to receive the cheques for the donation from Johann Marihart, CEO of AGRANA Beteiligungs-AG and Roland Geyer, director of Theatre an der Wien (see photo).
AGRANA acknowledges its corporate social responsibility and has supported various charitable projects for many years. “Supporting social initiatives that assist in improving living conditions, above all for children and young people, is particularly important to us,” stresses Marihart.
“Theatre an der Wien congratulates AGRANA on its 25-year anniversary and is very happy to work together with this company as an organiser and partner supporting this benefit concert. Themes critical to society and their social consequences often play a large role in operatic works. As a modern opera house, we are aware of our responsibility to look beyond the horizon of the stage and to give our support to the real problems of the world and society,” remarks Roland Geyer.
