Johann Marihart reelected as President of CEFS

During the Annual General Assembly, Johann Marihart, CEO of AGRANA Beteiligungs-AG, was reelected President of the Association of the European Sugar Industry, CEFS, for a period of three years.

During the Annual General Assembly, Johann Marihart, CEO of AGRANA Beteiligungs-AG, was reelected President of the Association of the European Sugar Industry, CEFS, for a period of three years.

Johann Marihart, who has been holding this position for the last six years already, on his renewed nomination: "As the next three years will be crucial with regards to the shape and implementation of the future outline conditions governing the European sugar market, they are a major challenge for the European sugar manufacturers and refiners."

CEFS (Comité Européen des Fabricants de Sucre)
CEFS - the Association of the European Sugar Industry - represents and defends the interests of all European sugar manufacturers and refiners vis-à-vis the European institutions (Council of Ministers, European Commission, Parliament, Economic and Social Committee etc) and in various international organisations (FAO, WTO etc).

The association was founded in 1953 and has currently 26 members from 21 European countries.

The mission of the organisation is to provide extensive information about the evolution of European sugar market rules and regulations.

CEFS also promotes an active dialogue and information exchange amongst its members and the practical application of scientific research and economic studies.

Another task of the Association of the European Sugar Industry is to defend the position of its members and to act on their behalf. More information at http://www.cefs.org/.
