Governance and compliance

Governance and compliance are key elements of sustainability at AGRANA and part of the corporate strategy.

Compliance forms the basis for all business decisions at AGRANA.

Our suppliers and business partners agree to comply with our Code of Conduct. Additionally, our supply contracts contain risk-based clauses on environment as well as on labour and human rights to minimise potential negative impacts in the supply chain. A seperate compliance clause in our General Terms and Conditions ensures that these standards are legally binding.

Respecting and protecting human rights is not only a legal obligation for AGRANA, but also an expression of our corporate responsibility.

With our declaration of principles, we reaffirm our clear commitment to respecting human rights worldwide - within AGRANA and along the entire supply chain. At the same time, it creates a common understanding and a uniform standard for guaranteeing human rights throughout the AGRANA Group and along the supply chain.

The AGRANA Declaration of Principles on Human Rights is consistent with the following principles:

  • United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights,
  • United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights,
  • Core labor standards of the International Labor Organization (ILO),
  • OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises,
  • Principles of the UN Global Compact (UNGC),
  • Regulations of the Supplier Ethical Data Exchange (SEDEX).

To emphasis our commitment and sense of responsibility in the areas of human rights, the environment and ethical business practices, AGRANA joined the UN Global Compact in 2021|22 - the world's largest initiative for responsible corporate governance.
