Occupational health & safety
Safety as a fundamental principle
We promote a strong safety culture with our Group-wide Occupational Health & Safety Policy (OHS).
Our aim is to prevent accidents at work and protect health in the long term - for all employees and external partners.
The OHS policy forms the framework for:
- An established safety culture: safety comes first - the goal: zero accidents
- Promotion of responsible behaviour among all employees
- Annual training and targeted awareness-raising measures to strengthen safety expertise
- Emergency preparedness and response plans
- Regular internal and external audits
Co-creation desired: suggestion scheme
AGRANA employees play an active role in shaping the company. Digital suggestion platforms such as InnovAS or EISAS are available in all divisions.
Good ideas - e.g. for improving workplace safety, processes or environmental standards - are not only appreciated, but also rewarded; in the Starch division, over 60% of the ideas submitted have already been implemented.
Harmonised standards for all
In addition to local standards, AGRANA collects standardised global key figures on occupational safety, such as the injury rate. This systematic evaluation helps us to recognise risks at an early stage and continuously improve.
Our safety management system
A comprehensive management system with clear objectives, action plans and responsibilities supports the continuous improvement of occupational safety.Safety committees at the Austrian sites and the global Health & Safety Day ensure that local experiences and best practices are regularly exchanged and strategically developed. AGRANA collects globally standardised safety indicators such as the injury rate and analyses incidents in order to systematically derive corrective measures and identify risks at an early stage.
