API Products
The API bee feed product range is a conventional bee food based on sugar, produced by Südzucker (Germany). In Austria, AGRANA acts as a distribution partner for these products. The range includes the two products APIINVERT (syrup) and APIFONDA (paste).
APIFONDA supports spring stimulation, closes gaps in the nectar flow and is ideal for early winter feeding, forming of new colonies.
APIINVERT is a bee feed product which typically closes the gaps in the nectar flow for late winter feeding.
APIFONDA
APIFONDA is a ready-made feed in paste form that is composed mainly of sucrose. It contains micro-fine crystals which are in average smaller than 1/100 millimeters. Every single crystal is coated with a thin film of syrup made of dissolved sugars, which prevents the clumping and crusting of the crystals. Therefore APIFONDA can be easily carried off by the bees and swallowed directly.

APIINVERT
APIINVERT is a syrup of extremely high purity. It is made up exclusively of sucrose and its building blocks fructose and glucose. For that reason APIINVERT contains no forms of sugar that strain the digestive tract. The high proportion of fructose means that the product shows little tendency to granulate in the honeycombs, even at low temperatures and so prevents starvation of the bees.
