Technical properties
AMITROL is a range of pregelatinised starch adhesives, engineered for reproducible mixing and gel formation so manufacturers can predict handling and bond behaviour. One-bag-mix (OBM) variants combine carrier and additives and do not require steam or chemical activation, while technical AMITROL grades are formulated for two-phase preparation with controlled primary/secondary carrier behaviour. Typical OBM practice uses a 1:3 mixing ratio (≈25% solids) with variant-specific Stein–Hall gel times of about 30–60 s and gel temperatures in the ~49–60 °C band; viscosities and gel points are specified per variant to secure consistent process performance.
The range is compatible with common preparation systems such as Stein-Hall and Minocar, is suitable for single-face laminators and standard corrugators (OBM variants can support speeds up to ≈350 m/min under appropriate conditions), and is offered in bulk, big-bag and silo formats to match industrial feeding systems.
