During the Annual General Assembly in Vienna, Johann Marihart, CEO of AGRANA Beteiligungs-AG, was reelected President of the Association of the European Sugar Industry, CEFS, for the next two years. Johann Marihart, who has been holding this position for the last 15 years already, on his renewed nomination: "The expiry of the European sugar market regime in autumn 2017 as well as new market demands due to the nutrition debate will represent the greatest challenge for European sugar manufacturers and refiners in the years to come.”

CEFS - the Association of the European Sugar Industry - represents and defends the interests of all European sugar manufacturers and refiners vis-à-vis the European institutions (Council of Ministers, European Commission, Parliament, Economic and Social Committee etc) and in various international organisations (FAO, WTO etc). The association was founded in 1953 and has currently 27 members from 21 European countries.
