Lived compliance

The principles that guide us to do what’s right.

Compliance is more than meeting legal requirements. It protects people, fosters fair and sustainable business relationships, and strengthens trust in our products and decisions. To ensure a consistent approach across the Group, compliance is managed through a central Compliance Office supported by a dedicated Compliance Management System.

By assigning Compliance directly to the CEO's area of responsibility, the Executive Board sends a clear tone from the top. Operational responsibility lies with the Vice President Group Sustainability, Compliance & Internal Audit, who reports directly to the CEO.

Local compliance managers across our business units and subsidiaries work closely with the central Compliance Office and report directly to the Vice President, enabling faster, more effective decision-making. Dedicated escalation and representation procedures are in place for potential conflicts of interest. In addition, our Compliance Board provides ongoing guidance on fundamental compliance matters.

Eight key areas form the foundation of compliance at AGRANA.

Business partner due dilligence

Knowing who we do business with.

The integrity of our business partners is the foundation of every business relationship.
Our Group-wide Business Partner Compliance Policy sets out how we assess new and existing business partners, the criteria we apply, and when additional approvals are required.

We continuously monitor sanctions and trade restrictions. Our business partner portfolio is screened daily against relevant sanctions lists using automated processes, while any alerts are reviewed and documented in accordance with the four-eyes principle.

AGRANA Whistleblowing System

When something isn't right, we listen.

We foster an open corporate culture where compliance and integrity matter. Illegal or unethical conduct has no place at AGRANA.

Anyone wishing to raise a concern has several channels available, including their direct manager, another trusted leader, their local Human Resources department, the local Compliance Officer, or the Works Council.

In addition, we provide an electronic whistleblowing system that helps identify misconduct and prevent potential issues at an early stage. It is available to employees, customers, business partners, and anyone seeking guidance or wishing to report a concern – anonymously or by name.

How does the system work?

If you have observed misconduct or are seeking guidance in a specific situation, you can submit a report. Please describe your concern as clearly and specifically as possible.

If you have relevant documents or additional information, you can attach them to your report. This helps us investigate potential misconduct, assess the facts, and take appropriate action. If you wish, you can set up a secure mailbox that allows us to communicate with you throughout the process. Retaliation against individuals who raise concerns is prohibited. We protect the identity of whistleblowers and treat all reports in strict confidence in accordance with applicable legal requirements.

Reports should be submitted in good faith and to the best of your knowledge. Knowingly false or deliberately misleading reports are not permitted.

Who reviews the reports?

Reports are handled by specially trained members of our Compliance organization and Internal Audit, following the four-eyes principle to ensure a thorough and impartial review. Within the European Union,
you also have the option of reporting directly to the competent local authority.
