STUDEN-AGRANA Sugar Refinery is one of three production companies within the Agro-Industrial Complex in Brčko, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The opening of the refinery marked the completion of one of the largest projects in the development of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s food industry over the past two decades.
 
The investment in the new and only sugar refinery in Bosnia and Herzegovina amounted to more than BAM 90 million (approximately EUR 45 million) and created 140 new jobs.
 
The refinery has a production capacity of more than 150,000 tonnes of white sugar, using raw cane sugar sourced from global markets. STUDEN-AGRANA Sugar Refinery received the “Most Significant Greenfield Investment 2007” award from the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FIPA).
 
The quality of sugar produced by STUDEN-AGRANA under the AGRAGOLD brand has been recognized and confirmed through numerous product quality awards at international food industry fairs.
 
STUDEN-AGRANA Sugar Refinery has implemented the following quality and sustainability standards and certifications: ISO 9001, ISO 50001, ISO 14001, IFS Food v8, Bonsucro Chain of Custody 5.2, EcoVadis, Kosher, Halal, and SMETA, achieving a high score. These certifications further confirm the consistently high quality of the sugar produced, while ensuring product safety and compliance with specific cultural and dietary requirements. In addition, at the company’s facility in Slovenia, production at AGRAGOLD Ormož is certified under the NON-GMO standard.
 
Since 2010, STUDEN-AGRANA Sugar Refinery has been cooperating with The Coca-Cola Company for Central and Southeastern Europe as a certified sugar supplier to Coca-Cola HBC. In accordance with Coca-Cola standards, the company undergoes annual recertification to ensure compliance with the requirements of Coca-Cola’s standards, reflecting its commitment and ability to meet the highest standards of the world’s leading soft-drink company.
